Common questions
Do I need an account to use Modudraft?
Try every feature in the demo, no account needed. To keep your work, create a free account: it holds 3 diagrams in the cloud and opens them on any device. The MCP server needs a paid plan (or the free trial) and an API key.
Where are my Free diagrams stored?
In the cloud, in your account: 3 diagrams sync across devices. Nothing you change in the demo is saved. Export a .modudraft file to back any of them up.
Can I self-host Modudraft?
Not yet. If self-hosting is important for your team, reach out - it's on the roadmap.
How does the MCP server work?
The Modudraft MCP server lets Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client read and modify your canvas. Read the MCP docs for setup instructions.
Can I switch plans at any time?
Yes. You can change plans at any time. If your account moves to Free with more than 3 cloud diagrams, you choose which 3 stay active the next time you sign in; if you close that window, your 3 most recently edited stay active. The others become read-only: you can still open, export and delete them. After 7 days they move to the Bin, and the Bin deletes them for good 90 days later. On a paid plan, or during a Pro trial, they are editable again.
Do I need a card for the Pro trial?
No. The trial is 14 days and starts from your account with no payment details.
What happens when the trial ends?
Your account goes back to Free, and nothing is charged. If you have more than 3 cloud diagrams, you choose which 3 stay active; the others become read-only, and after 7 days they move to the Bin, where you can restore them for 90 days.
